Taiping is a city located in Larut, Matang and Selama District of Perak, Malaysia. It is the second-largest city in the state of Perak after Ipoh, the state capital, with a population of approximately 245,182 and majority of that being Chinese.

Taiping as an area is developed and this can be seen in the various major outlets able to be found within the area. One such example is the major malls available to be visited, which include the common major malls, Aeon, and Tesco.

Furthermore, major fast food outlets are aplenty in Taiping with most of the big names being found here like McDonald’s, KFC, Burger King, and Subway. Major mart outlets that can be found here include Family Mart and 7-Eleven.

Other notable places in Taiping are the Taiping Lake Gardens, which opened in 1880 when a former tin mine was turned into a public park, making it the first park in Malaysia. Another first that can be found in Taiping is Malaysia’s first railway station, which was built in 1885 to connect Taiping and Kuala Lumpur.

Along with these are Malaysia’s first Museum and first hill station. As you can see, Taiping is a town that is filled with history for visitors to enjoy.

Major fast-food retail outlets are also available, with McDonald’s and KFC being readily found. From these two categories, there is a notable absence of the major mall, Tesco, in the area along with major fast food outlets Subway and Burger King.

Major Mart outlets that can be found here are the two popular ones, Family Mart, and 7-Eleven. Major clothing retail store Uniqlo can also be found in the area if one needs to shop for clothes.
