The Founder
Cheng King Fa was the founder and chairman of Khind. He was a Chinese Malaysian businessman.
Cheng started a modest business in Sekinchan, Selangor which trades in electrical goods. He founded Syarikat Letnik Kee Hin on 21st September 1961, now known as Khind.
Khind has been ongoing for more than 50 years.
How Khind Was Created.
Khind was founded in 1961 in a small town called Sekinchan. Cheng wanted to bring convenience to people living there.
In1963, Cheng’s brother joined him and they worked hard to make the business float. Around the late 70s, they started to develop the manufacture of electrical accessories and lamps.
After that, in the 1980s, Cheng and his brother decided to dive into wholesale. Soon after, Cheng King Fa’s son joined the company in 1987.
The first export for Khind was in 1988. The following year, Ping Keat, son of Cheng created a brand name for the company, and KHIND was born.
They moved to their new factory in 1990 and in 1995, the grand opening of a new factory was graced by the late Sultan of Selangor.

Khind’s vision and mission are what keep the company successful.

Its mission is to make everything easier for its consumers. They commit to developing products that are affordable, reliable, and trendy.
This mission is to ensure the consumers own products that are easy to use, clean, store, and service with peace of mind.
Going Global
To further expand the company’s brand, Khind decided to go global.
In 2001, Ping Keat and the leadership team made a decision to acquire the “Mistral” brand name for the Asia-Pacific region from the principal owners in New Zealand.
Khind gradually increased its presence in the domestic and Singaporean market.
Then in 2005, they made Dubai the regional operating headquarters to serve the Middle Eastern & African market.
By the close of 2010, the company had an export presence in over 50 countries around the world. Moreover, the company has launched an online e-commerce portal targeted at younger consumers.
Sustainable Growth
Khind has been running for 60 years now. The company has taken significant measures to ensure sustainable growth, with a strong vision to continue building on the legacy as a top brand for home appliances in Malaysia.
Earlier this year, Khind-Mistral and Khind-Mistral Borneo merged as one company, now known as Khind Marketing Sdn Bhd for future sustainable business growth.
In April of this year, Khind Kitchen was built in the headquarters in Shah Alam. A brand new space designed to showcase their broad range of appliances.
It will be used for new product testing, recipe development, product training, promotional content production, online live-streaming, and much more.
